CONDITION FOR ADMISSION
The competition is open to directors and productions firms that present shorts made in film
and/or digital format.
The longest duration admitted is twentyfive minutes and the oldest production year admitted is
2008. For the preselection, films must be in
DVD or MINIDV PAL format. Each participant
can send one work for section at the most.
Works selected in 2010 by other festival organizations for the provinces of Bari, Brindisi, Lecce,
Taranto up to the 8th edition of this festival, will not be admitted, under immediate pain of
banishment from Salento Finibus Terrae. Works selected in the previous Salento Finibus Terrae
editions will not be admitted.
The authors of the works chosen for the festival will receive a communication from Day by Day.
Within fifteen days from this communication, every author must send a
MINIDV PAL, BETA
SP PAL or HDV 1080 50i. Each author will be considered responsible for the content of the
presented film; in no case, neither the organizers nor the jury will be. Registrations must be
received within 31st March 2010 (for the deadline of delivery, the stamp will be checked).
The works participating in the festival will be shown on our web site
www.salentofinibusterrae.it
Works must be sent by mail (indicating: no commercial value) including this regulation
completed with the registration form signed. Also the dialogue list written in English or Italian
must be attached.
Day by Day will give back no work. In case of a possible restitution, Day by Day must
receive a written request and the expediting cost will be at the participants’
expenses, possible customs duty included. Uncompleted and/or illegible material will not
be considered. The festival management is not responsible for theft, damages or loss of works.

School competition:
In this section, students and teachers of Italian and foreign, primary and junior and senior high
schools will be involved, the subject is “BULLYING”.
This regulation must be signed by the School Manager and/or the school legal representative
who shall gather a definite permission given by the parents or the one who has the paternal
authority for every Minor participating as an author or an actor
Through this regulation signature, the School Manager and/or the school legal representative
allows Day by Day srl to publish photos and news concerning participating works on daily,
weekly and monthly publications and festival catalogue, in order to promote also this festival.
Besides, the School Manager and/or the school legal representative allows Day by Day srl to
show the whole short film during other national/international movie projections, also through
tv and internet, against no reward, and exonerates Day by Day henceforth from any
responsibility in case of an improper use of the works by third parties.
A proper commission will select the finalist works. Day by Day will communicate the finalists by
e-mail or registered mail or fax.
The ones who will be selected shall send a
minidv or dvd pal copy to Day by Day srl, Via
Santa Trinità, 21 -59100 Prato (PO), Italy within 31st March 2010. The longest duration
admitted is 20 minutes.
SELECTION AND PRIZES
Every end of month starting from 30th October 2009, a commission appointed by the festival
art director will meet to select the works sent to our agency. The shorts selected will be
communicated to the author/production firm by phone or by e-mail.
All the shorts that will arrive after the 31st March will be taken into account for the Salento
Finibus Terrae's next edition.
A jury of experts, nominated by the festival art director , will meet within April 2010,
will consider and judge the selected works and will award the following prizes:

Accomodation is foreseen only for the winners (board and lodging, one night in a single/double
room). Transport expenses (flight, car, train, etc…) will not be refunded.
Within May 15th 2010 the winners will be informed about the prizes and they have to
confirmed their presence at the festival within 15th June 2010.
The festival will take place in San Vito dei Normanni and, possibly, in other towns.
The response of the jury is indisputable.
All the shorts received- the unselected ones included- will be placed in the “Mediatheca Salento
Finibus Terrae” of the Culture and Tourism Assessorship of San Vito dei Normanni town.
These works will be filed and kept and can be used only for a private vision in the mediatheca.
Through this regulation signature, the Author allows Day by Day srl to publish photos and
news concerning his own works on daily, weekly and monthly publications and festival
catalogue, in order to promote also this festival. Besides, the Author allows Day by Day srl to
show the whole short film during other national/international movie projections, also through
tv and internet, against no reward.
The author prohibits the use of its own works in a context that could compromise his own
dignity, exonerating Day by Day henceforth from any responsibility in case of an improper use
of his works by third parties.
100MINUTI CORTI TOUR
This tour is strictly bound to the festival. It is an itinerant review proposing the best shorts,
that have participated in the different editions of the festival, in various Italian cities. These
shorts, according to the art director's discretion, will be included in this tour.
During the tour legs, the audience can vote for the best film; the winner will receive the Ben
Hur statuette during the 9th edition (2011)
The participation to the competition implies the full acceptance and respect of the
above regulation in every part of its.
This regulation is written in Italian and English Language: in case of linguistic
misunderstanding about the translation, the Italian language will have the prevalence.
Should any dispute arise between the parties, the only authorized court is the one of Prato
without fail.
Privacy: your data will be kept according to the Italian law.
Please fill in the registration form separately for every work sent. The form must be
signed- along with the regulation- and legible under pain of exclusion.
